Insomnia? Nightmares? Tuck Into a Dream Pillow.

For a solid year before my wedding, I dreamed I was stuck repeating high school. Over and over, I'd go to class only to fail a pop quiz in French or forget about a project in Biology. These dreams haunted my nights and my days at work, sapping my confidence and focus.

So, I created these herbal dream pillows to help me fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer, and fight nightmares with awareness of the dream itself ("lucid dreaming").

Within a week of using my little dream pillow, I dreamed something completely unrelated to high school or college, and awoke the next morning actually refreshed. Sometimes the dreams return when I'm stressed, but they're never as all-consuming as they once were.

How to Use Dream Pillows

Tuck this tiny herbal sachet into the front of your normal pillowcase, around where your head would rest naturally. Try to smell itsmell, not snort—when you're trying to fall asleep. That's it!

In the morning, you might have to readjust the dream pillow if it's gotten jostled inside your pillowcase. Remember to take it out before you toss your sheets in the wash!

Dream Pillow Ingredients:

Dried Chamomile, Lavender, Rose Buds, Catnip, Hops, Mugwort, and Yarrow

(If you'd like to know more about how each of these ingredients helps you fall and stay asleep, check out the complete ingredient list blog here!)

Have cats but would like to try out the Dream Pillow for yourself? Try our catnip-free version!

Some Words to the Wise

Dream pillows should be replaced every three months or so. It depends on how much you sweat in your sleep, really. If you find your sachet has become limp and no longer smells strongly, throw it out and replace if needed.

Please see The Card and Vine's FAQ page for more about the responsible use of any herbal substances.

Specific guidance for Dream Pillows:

  • Don't eat this! (I'm not sure why you would want to, but people have done stranger things.)
  • Don't use if you have allergies to anything in it.
    • Those with hay fever and other seasonal allergies may react to the chamomile, mugwort, and yarrow in this pillow. If your nose starts to run, then proceed with a bit of caution.
  • If you're unsure if you should be using this product with your current illness and/or medication, please check with a medical professional first before using any herbal or aromatherapy product. It may be contraindicated for your condition or your current batch of medications.
    • I can help a bit by telling you what I know about an herb or oil's history of interaction according to my studies and experience, but your doctor knows best. Personal communication with me should not be substituted for talking with a formal medical professional.
  • If you start to have some sort of negative reaction to this product like trouble breathing, stop use immediately. It's not "releasing negative energy" or any such nonsense. You might be experiencing an allergic reaction and so you shouldn't use it!
